TIME SENSITIVE!
I have an opportunity to present at a conference the first week of February which I need support to attend. This is a fantastic opportunity for me to build my new career/business as a speaker, educator and trainer. My areas of focus are related to LGBTQ senior healthcare issues and getting clear on your final wishes.

Two of my proposals were accepted:

Caring for LGBT Seniors
The experience of LGBT seniors has emerged as a significant topic in recent years. Despite the advances in LGBT rights, many LGBT seniors find it necessary to return to the closet as they reach a certain age, require more intimate care, or when they move into assisted living or communities with skilled nursing care available. In addition, LGBT seniors face ageism in the LGBT community and may not have the social or familial support of their heterosexual counterparts. Due to these and a host of other issues, many of our seniors continue to experience inferior care or delay seeking support. In this presentation you will learn about issues impacting our seniors, alternatives and solutions around the country, and learn about the importance of being an advocate for yourself and others.
Learning Objectives:
* Experience of LGBT seniors and Barriers to care
* Alternatives and Community based solutions
* Importance of being an advocate for yourself and others

Get Busy Dying- Getting Clear on Your Final Wishes Beyond Advanced Directives
Who wants to talk about their final wishes? It is a challenging topic for many! Do you know what you would do if you were in a severe accident or developed a critical or terminal illness? Whether you are approaching end of life yourself or caring for someone who is, "Get Busy Dying to Get Busy Living" was written to help people of all ages get clear on their final wishes beyond what is covered in Advanced Directives or Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment. Having an understanding and creating a document to share with your loved ones can provide peace of mind and allow you to intentionally create a different experience. The issues discussed range from physical and financial needs to emotional and spiritual.
Learning Objectives:
* Understand the importance of having your final wishes in place
* Develop a basic framework for your own wishes
* Learn how to support someone who is critically or terminally ill or at end of life.
