Hello family and friends,
On November 2nd/2017, I turned the BIG 50! 50 with cerebral palsy, a physical disability, is no joke but the work goes on and I need your help to continue with my disability justice work all over the world through Krip-Hop Nation (an international network of Hip-Hop artists & other musicians, poets, activists with disabilities). I NEED A SCOOTER! Yes, I tried Medicaid/MadiCal twice and both times they (The State) said that my hands were too strong for a scooter. I know it makes no sense LIKE I WALK ON MY HANDS! That’s why I've to turn to you, my supporters, friends and family.
The campaign’s video & its caption was done by a friend of mine, CB Smith-Dahl. This campaign is supported by an organization that I have been apart of since 1996, Poor Magazine,. My goal is $5000.00 for the scooter.

The reason why I am doing this campaign is that I, myself, have cerebral palsy and as I am getting up in years, this disability and aging is making it painful and harder for me to walk and travel – I am now using a cane but this is a tiny band-aid on a huge mobility issue that I have.
As the founder of Krip-Hop Nation and a college lecturer, I have to travel a lot to promote, perform, and organize events, conferences, interviews and lectures with the public, other disabled artists/activists, Krip-Hop members, students and media. I have many working trips coming up to the Untied Kingdom, South Africa, Congo, New York and more this is a serious concern for me because I am finding it harder and harder to walk long distances.
I have been in news in the USA & internationally like Hufftonpost, Blooomburg News etc. and Krip-Hop Nation’s collective is a high profile one, that is recognized as improving the lives and opportunities for musicians with disabilities around the world.
I would be so grateful if you, my supporters, friends and family will donate to help buy this scooter so I can continue not only with Krip-Hop Nation's work around the world but to make my day to day life more accessible. Like I said in the beginning that I tried going through the state's disability health insurance however they rejected me twice with a stupid reason that said, "I Have Too Much Strength in My Hands,!" Like I walk on my hands or something! So I turn to you, my supporters, friends and family.
I am the founder of an international collective called Krip-Hop Nation – based out of San Francisco Bay Area that promotes the education and public awareness of musicians/activists with disabilities. Our goal is to get disabled musicians' musical talents & activism from around the world into the media, the community, educational institutions and the music industry. We sponsor conferences, work with educators and journalists and report on the latest news about musicians with disabilities world-wide all on an SSI budget. In the last several years we have received recognition for our positive work in the disabled communities around the world, and we have traveled extensively to such places like the East Coast - New York City, Boston, internationally like, Liverpool UK, Toronto, CA, and all the way to South Africa and more working to promote disabled musicians through a disability justice platform. I am also a lecturer on the college circuit since 1998 from Harvard to Princeton University and so on.
