Our family, the Sheehans, is one of many families that were blessed enough to have had Laurie Ann enter our lives. Laurie Ann was the personal care assistant for our mom who has Alzheimers. Her love, empathy, and dedication was like no other. She worked 7 days a week taking care of our mom and my dad, even though he wasn't the patient. Seeing how she tended to our parents, LaurieAnn instantly became an integral part of our family. However, my family was not the only one who she had a profound impact on. Talking to family and friends, you would hear stories about how she helped their mother, father, aunt, etc. Laurie Ann was such a positive person who always had a smile on her face or was laughing. She always made you feel good, regardless of what kind of day you were having. Unfortunately, LaurieAnn's life was cut short and she succumbed to pancreatic cancer, Saturday 9-10-16.
Our family was unable to help Laurie overcome her diagnosis, so we thought the best way to honor her memory would be by helping her family, but we need everyone's help. Laurie and her family have suffered so much loss through the years, starting with the loss of her sister Donna 20 years ago at a very young age in a tragic accident. This year's heartache began when her mom became very ill. Laurie was helping her recover, but she still has a long road ahead of her and she won't have LaurieAnn to help. The family's misfortune continued approximately 6 weeks ago when the unimaginable happened. Her father was diagnosed with cancer and was given 6 months to live, but passed away 2 weeks later. LaurieAnn shared with our family that burying her dad was a financial hardship for the family and that her mom had to take a loan out to give him a proper burial. LaurieAnn, being LaurieAnn, said that she wanted to help her mom pay back the loan. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after her dad's passing she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and less than 2 weeks after her diagnosis she joined her father in heaven. LaurieAnn is survived by her son Richie(22), her daughter Leann(12), her fiance Ira, her mom Sue, brothers Sal & Raymond, sister-in-law Kathy and nephews Vincent and Joseph, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Unfortunately, LaurieAnn had no life insurance and her family depended on her financially. That is why we need everyone's help. No donation is too small. We may not be able to ease their heartache, but together we can get them back on their feet financially. Please find it in your heart to contribute. We thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and for your thoughtful contribution.
Sincerely,
The Sheehan Family
