Lauren's Recovery Fund

On June 16th, 2012, my dear friend and sister of 22 years, Lauren Ridgway, had a stroke which left her visually impaired to the extent that she is unable to drive or work. Half their household income disappeared overnight. She has a son in college, a daughter whose income was derived partially from her mother's painting business, and now, undetermined medical bills. She has insurance but it is unclear how long or what the process of recovery will be.

I have established this fund in hopes of raising enough money to partially replace her income for 6 months so she can be free of that stress and focus fully on her recovery.

Those of you who know Lauren know that she is high energy, incredibly hard working and has always been extremely generous with her time and help. Personally, I'm not sure how I would have done many of the things I have over the last 2 decades, without her support.

I am so grateful for this new way of fundraising that allows us to help each other in whatever way we can.
