To support an amputees National 3 Peaks Challenge
I will be taking part in a National 3 Peaks challenge in August 2021 to support my Dad Jon Hilton who will be 9 months post left lower leg amputation. Jon is a veteran having served in the Royal Engineers for just short of 15 years. He underwent knee surgery when he left the forces which resulted in a blood clot to his left leg. 11 years of pain and suffering resulted in him having to decide to amputate his left leg below the knee.
Jon has set multiple challenges before his amputation and after to ensure he is not defined by his disability but also to prove he can still do the things he sets out to do. We are all so proud of him and to be part of this challenge team is awesome. The support he has received so far is overwhelming and we just want to thank those charities that have supported him along the way and continue to support him through this transition.
Jon is raising money which will be split equally between BLESMA, SSAFA, Royal British Legion and Hull4Heroes. He wants to thank them for supporting him through his transition and going forward.
Follow all the updates from Jon on his social media channels.
