Laura Gray's positivity & hope fund

I met Laura in 2001 when she was hired at Sylvan Learning Center.   As my new boss, I wanted to hate her, but that quickly became impossible. Instead, damn it all, she became my dearest friend.   Day after day, she faced adversity.  

I watched as she cared for her mother in her home, and provided round the clock hospice care while still maintaining a full time career.  

All the while, Laura remained positive and hopeful.

When we left Sylvan and, together, began careers at EDMC, Laura came down with pneumonia that refused to be whipped into submission and required several hospitals stays, long term disability, and eventually cost her the job.

There were additional set backs and injustices that 
Laura endured, absolutely no fault of her own.  So many times, I would try to remind myself that God only gives people what they can handle, but he got this shit wrong.  No one can handle this much.

Now this. She is at Passavant Hospital. She had a mini stroke which has affected her left side. Vitals are stable. Blood pressure high. Goal is to go to inpatient rehab.  

I guarantee that she remains positive and hopeful.  I imagine if she was sitting next to me right now, she would tell me that if her face has to droop, it will make her look like she is deep in thought, pondering the political landscape of America right now. 

Laura may be grateful for your prayers.  But hell, I'm not. She's going to need financial help to get through this.   Please. Consider a penny for every time she's made you laugh and when you realize that you'll never have that amount of money in your life, give what you can.

I'm going to be positive and hopeful.
