Hi my name is Laura. I'm a mother to an amazing 7yr. old little girl. I have been blessed in many ways, but she has been the biggest blessing of all. I was in the hospital for 10 long days before I had her at 27weeks. She weighed 1lbs 9oz and was only 12in. long. What a blessing, what miracle.
For many years, I had a dream, a dream to have a small business, doing what I love, Massage Therapy.
As God had it planned, during my pregnancy I had the chance to start up that dream business and little did I know, God would bring the right people into my life, to turn that dream into reality.
It was then, Auburn Massage & Wellness Centre was founded & has become a place for mind, body and spiritual healing.
It is an honor to be doing Gods will and helping others daily.
Things don't always go as planned when owning your own small business. Auburn Massage & Wellness Centre suffered water and structural damage from a flood in 2009 and we had to replace almost everything.
Several years later we were at the point where we were almost fully recovered from that incident when we were hit with ANOTHER FLOOD in 2013!
We were then forced to relocate due to our insurance company.
On a the bright side,
we have been in our new location a little over a year now and all was going well until recently when my life was turned upside down. I went in for a simple in and out medical procedure and thought everything was good to go. I had severe pains that lead me back to the hospital only 5 days after my outpatient procedure. That night I was admitted to the hospital because they found a mass in my colon. After surgery and 9 more days in the hospital, it was then that I learned I had stage 3 colon cancer. I'm only 39!
No one is completely prepared for these kinds of things, let alone hearing "you have cancer".
I've been out of work since Aug. 21st recovering from surgery and now I will be going through chemo treatments to hopefully stop the Cancer from spreading to other organs. That means at least 6 more months of no work and no income and increasing financial obligations.
Auburn Massage Centre has helped out so many people, organizations and charities raise money and awareness in times of need and now I am asking for your help. I never in a million years thought I would need to ask my family, friends and community to help on my behalf. This is very hard and humbling for me. No amount is to small and any amount is greatly appreciated.
