Saving the Bees

As a beekeeper, educator and activist, I have dedicated my life to Pollinator Restoration and am excited to begin a project of epic proportions. I am seeking funds to facilitate travel and attendance to several important networking and educational opportunities in November.

I am deep into the development stages of this project and networking with a team to develop honeybee and pollinator sanctuaries that are permaculture designed desert restoration sites developed to encourage native fauna, water and soil reclamation and creation of medicinal bee-product businesses.

I am seeking funding so that I may travel from Southern Oregon, to West Texas and back to network, attend conferences, meet possible project funders and people that will help formalize the business structures and investment book. I will also be asking for funds to provide a plane ticket to Peru where I have been invited to work with a special beekeeping organization that works with the Sacred as I do and is active in breeding native bee populations for pollinator conservation.

My goal is to work with a team to help restore native pollination zones, increase honeybee forage and territory, stem climate change and affect culture. A grand goal that starts with this one little trip!

Riding the train I will meet with several people (appointments are set!) and attend the West Texas Beekeepers Conference, Cuivera Coalition Conference in New Mexico and visit the site already donated for the pilot project in Southwest Texas.

The scope of this project requires a big team and we will be sourcing major grant funding once we get our pilot project off the ground. It is essential to this project that I attend these conferences and meet these networks so that we can effectively develop this project.

Every player we are meeting is thrilled with this project design and it is sure to make big beautiful waves across the country.

In 2012 I founded the College of the Melissae; Center for Sacred Beekeeping and have been working to develop a program dedicated to studying Honeybees from historical, mystical, scientific, Sacred, Arts & Medicine and Activism perspectives. Off to a great start we have created 300 pages of unique educational content and hours of videos, all from literally thousands of volunteer hours involving up to 150 volunteers. Please look to our web and Facebook Pages so that you can get to know me and our work. I am capable and ready to take this important step. I need YOU to help me get there!!!

Thank you for your support. I am determined, inspired and motivated to do this work and am going BIG. This is my life's work and this little trip will be a HUGE boost toward making this project bloom....for all of us and our sweet pollinators.
