After an overwhelming response to an online laptop giveaway targeting young Black teens/ adults; a team of amazing Black women decided helping one person wasn’t enough.
With over 100 stories from people lacking basic tools to navigate school and work remotely. And learning that “Black students are consistently more likely to face remote learning challenges
[The Urban Institute ] examined the prevalence of a set of household factors that evidence ties to lower academic achievement. Remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic is likely to exacerbate the effects of these risk factors."
From families of 5 sharing one laptop; to children, stuck completing assignments from cell phones because there is no laptop in the household at all; with the help of some friends, we’re taking a grassroots approach to raise money + awareness to support some of the respondents in their pursuit of remote work or education.

GOALS:
1. Bring Awareness to the uninformed.
2. Provide 10+ Laptops to Black teens/ young adults in need.
3. Support Black led non-profit who that supplies laptops continuously to low income households.
4. Raise a minimum of $5K + max of $10K; send excess to the designated non-profit.
