Helping Lanx Fight Sickle Cell Anemia!!

The Hospital Did Not Do There Job! My Son Lanx suffered for 8 mths and is still suffering. Do you want to know why?  Because his Newborn screening test was never sent off to the state after Lanx was born for evaluation. The hospital also misspelled his name. You hear about these kinds of stories on the new's. But this ended up being our life's true  story/nightmare.  December of 2009 was the most devastating day of my husband and I lives. That day Lanxton was diagnosed with the words that we never expected to hear. Your Son Has Sickle Cell Anemia SS!! Lanxton Is now 10 years old and has been Hospitalized over 70 times!!  You see we planned our pregnancy and took every precaution as possible. Before we got married we were both tested for Sickle Cell Trait which means you are a carrier of the disease. My test came back negative and my husband came back positive and then again before I became pregnant through a fertility doctor same results which meant that our child had a 50% chance of being a carrier of Sickle Cell Anemia. Sickle Cell Anemia causes Severe Excruciating Pain and Complications that affect the entire body.  The pain of a sickle cell crisis is compared to a terminal cancer patient's pain. Lanxton will have to endure this for his entire life. There Is NO Cure! Lanxton is our Hero!! He has Risk of Stroke, Ice Pick Migraines, Previous Splenic Sequestration issues, Vision loss at times, Chronic Fevers, Risk of Acute Chest Syndrome. Lanxton has had surgery to have his spleen removed May 26, 2016. Lanx is also in need of Dental surgery from a specialist because of side effects from taking Penicillin and hydroxyurea a chemotherapy medication daily as a goal to possibly not have a stroke which is also common with sickle cell anemia (ss) organ damage is also another complication of sickle cell anemia. Funds are being raised for his Medical bills, Life Insurance, Therapeutic Services. Lanx has a compromised immune system.
