Barry, Tatiana and Christopher LaCoste have come to the realization that they will not be able to make their home livable without financial help from others.
On Monday August 28th, their home and entire neighborhood was flooded by the release of the Barker Reservoir Dam. The water rose quickly and entered their home. They were rescued by boat before the water reached the ultimate level of 4 feet inside. The water was in their home for 11 days and when they were allowed to return on Saturday September 9th, their worst fears were confirmed. They lost everything that took their lifetime’s to accumulate; their home and furnishings, its contents, both cars, clothing, and all their belongings.
Their friends have been helping them by providing temporary accommodation, clothes, and child necessities. Also with the help of friends they have been removing flood contaminated household items and furniture as well as demolishing walls, built-ins and appliances. Virtually, nothing on the first floor was salvageable. The entire first floor must be completely rebuilt with only the studs and framing surviving.
But the more they work on the house - the better is realization of the scope of the rebuilding process they have to go through to be able to live in the house again. The cost to rebuild and replace the items destroyed will cost well over $300,000.
It's with reluctance and reservation Barry and Tatiana agreed I set up this campaign to raise some financial help for their family.
