Lucy Slade Regatta

Each year the Cascades Canoe Club hosts the Lucy Slade Regatta where hundreds of sprint paddlers of all ages and from across Quebec and Eastern Ontario race kayaks, canoes and war canoes on the beautiful Gatineau River.
The regatta is named for Lucy Slade-- a local award-winning canoe and kayak sprint paddler who sadly lost her battle with cancer four years ago. But she is best remembered in our community as a Mom and as one of the founding coaches for the youth paddling program at the Cascades Club.

Over the years the Lucy Slade Regatta has become a very special day for paddlers, coaches, families, volunteers, neighbours, and friends alike. And it is also a favourite regatta for visiting teams - they love our river, they love our spirit and they love our event! And so do we!

BUT YOU CAN HELP MAKE IT EVEN BETTER

We need you to help us with our fundraising campaign in order to recover our basic regatta operating costs. We also receive generous support from local businesses. But to further improve our race courses and facilities for the regatta, we are reaching out to you.

We are asking our MEMBERS who love this club as much as we do, our FAMILIES who have kids (nieces, nephews, grandkids...) in our program, and FRIENDS & NEIGHBOURS who love this community and want to support our athletes...to pull together to make a difference.

A LITTLE CAN GO A LONG WAY

We are accepting donations in the amounts of $25, $50 and $100 or more. Anyone who makes $100 donation will also have a race dedicated to them during the regatta.
