LOVE IS STRONGER THAN CANCER!!

Hello everyone! For those of you that don't know, my great aunt and uncle, Mary Agnes and Tom Pauley, have endured many unfortunate circumstances throughout the years. Aunt Mary Agnes was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in September of 2008, and had surgery that same month on September 29th. Her mother passed away on October 1, 2008, and on top of everything else, her three premature triplet grandchildren were born the next day on October 2, 2008. She fought hard and didn't give up, while undergoing chemo and radiation during that time. Following her radiation treatments, she would go to the hospital to comfort the triplets and help in any way she could. She was 'thought' to be in remission up until March of 2016, but she finally was able to find a doctor that figured out the cause of her ongoing abdominal pain that she suffered with for 2 years, at which time she was diagnosed with stage 3 Pancreatic cancer based on the biopsy. However, after the initial PET scan was completed, the diagnosis was changed to a stage 4 due to the cyst growing larger and the Pancreatic cancer metastasizing to other areas in her abdomen.  This was a shock to the whole family if you could imagine. The survival rate for advanced Pancreatic cancer is very poor, and the doctors had given her 3-6 months to live, informing her that she had a "slim chance" of making it to see Christmas of 2016. She spent that year surrounded by all of her family and friends, being there for the triplets, and REFUSING yet again, to give up the fight against this horrific disease! God would only give her as much as she could handle.

With all of the support, prayers, hope, strength and encouragement, Aunt Mary Agnes is still here with us today, TWO YEARS since her initial diagnosis of Pancreatic cancer, fighting just as much as ever! She receives chemotherapy, 6 1/2 hrs at the clinic, and goes home with a pump connected for another 46 hours of chemo only once a month now as it is becoming too much for her body to take. She receives a PET scan to check on her prognosis every 3 months. By the grace of God, she has outlived what any of her doctors believed she would. It is truly a MIRACLE that not even her doctors can explain. Her Pancreatic cancer is not getting better, but it is also not getting worse! Her chemotherapy has kept it from spreading any more at this time.

As you all could imagine, the medical bills for all of the chemotherapy treatments, imaging, and hospital visits alone are overwhelming. On top of all of that, about a week and a half ago, they had a landslide on a steep hill behind their home. The damage is already at $10,000+, and the repairs are not yet completed. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover this damage. This has of course put even more of a financial strain on them. Not to mention, Uncle Tommy lost his job after 38 1/2 years because he needed more time off than his company allowed to make sure Aunt Mary Agnes was able to get to all of her doctor's appointments and to help her at home during these trying times.

Aunt Mary Agnes and Uncle Tommy are the most kind hearted and generous people I know. They would give the coat off their backs to anyone that needed it. But now, they need OUR help. Aunt Mary Agnes has already been through so much more than I could ever imagine having to go through, and I wanted to do this to show them that there are people that care and truly want to help. NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE! For all that know her already can testify to what a strong, caring, and loving individual she truly is. SHE IS MY HERO.

Everyone also knows that they are not the kind of people to ever ask for help. But let's face it, we ALL need a little help sometimes. If you are able to donate, any amount would be GREATLY appreciated to help pay for medical expenses and costly repairs from this landslide. We would be FOREVER grateful.
