LIL GIRL GONE

THE WASHINGTON POST REPORTED:
March 14, 2017,

"There were 211 missing people reported in the District of Columbia in January 2017; 190 of them eventually were found unharmed. That still left 21 missing — 10 of them teenage girls."

"LiL Girl Gone" explores the breakdown of community ties and governmental neglect, that lead to the abduction and explotation of a tragically unfortunate number of our nation's young people.

Describe who will benefit :
This production is the Urban Encouragement Group's first project, benefitting the growth and redirection of the At risk youth population in the Washinton DC area, in association with the Department of Youth Rehabilation Services (DYRS).
The youth featured in the video montage were fully involved in the entire production.
Our goal is to engage not cage these young people, offering an opportunity, a journey and memorable experience in filmmaking!
Our hope is that they pursue a career in the industry utilizing the portable skills we exposed them to.

Detail what the funds will be used for:
The funds raised will be used soley for the editing/finishing of the film, since we completed principle photography and are excited about what we shot.
We have a verteran editor offering a huge discounted fee considering the time and effort he will endure to complete the edit.
If we raise more than our goal amount, those funds will used to enter Lil Girl Gone into festivals, marketing and other unforeseen expenses related to this project. And if possible, roll excess into next youth involved film project.

Explain how soon you need the funds:
We need funds ASAP to maintain our momentum toward completing post production, including seizing this unique window of opportunity with our editor of choice, before he gets bogged down on a project paying his normal fee.

Talk about what the support will mean to you:
Your support is so very important to us and the youth involved and those youth curious about joining our filmmaking workshops.
Your contributions will not only allow us to complete production and bring awareness to the vulnerable young girls being snatched off the streets of DC and other cities around the country, but will also give  the credibility that we hope will entice others to get involved monetarily and or offer their personal assistance and contacts to help grow interest and support toward our mission, to introduce and change the negative options,  and lead our youth toward a life in filmmaking.
