Help us pull off the Game of the Century in Ketchikan Alaska!
L.I.F.E. in Alaska is a newly formed 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with the purpose of providing a safe, productive and meaningful residential environment for people with disabilities in a “whole life” Alaskan setting while striving to meet each individual’s plan of care. We want to raise state-wide awareness for the needs of individuals with Autism and special needs and raise funds for L.I.F.E. in Alaska’s goal of purchasing a property for life-long transitional services. To kick off our fundraising efforts, we are bringing Team Hollywood to Ketchikan, Alaska on March 28, 2015 for the Game of the Century.
This game will feature a team of 5 former NBA, WNBA and NFL players playing five “streetballers” in a first-ever event brought to us by Team Hollywood. This event will be entertaining in a number of ways and bring the community together in support of this important cause. If you know basketball, you’ll know these players.
We just getting started and this is our first big fundraiser. In order to pull of this “Game of the Century”, we need $15,000 for space rentals, travel, lodging, and honorariums. Every donation will get us closer and all are greatly appreciated. Any proceeds over goal will go to L.I.F.E. in Alaska’s building fund.
We already have an identified property in the Ketchikan area available for immediate occupancy and where residents will work in meaningful employment and live in a safe, caring, and healthy environment. Our goal is to have permanent housing for up to 16 residents with supporting health professionals, employment and learning activities from a producing greenhouse, and summer camp facilities for groups up to 25 participants per session by 2018.
