Los Angeles PPE Manufacturing Fund | POV

One month ago our Los Angeles fine art printing studio - POV - was busier than ever, printing for Artists and Photographers all over Los Angeles and beyond. Fast forward, and we're now manufacturing medical protective equipment ( PPE ) to assist in the well known and widely reported shortages across state.

We quickly realized that we have vital equipment in our studio that can rapidly cut large volumes of raw materials including Fabric, Clear Vinyl and more. We have local vendor contacts and sewing contractors locked and loaded, ready to donate as much time as they can to the sewing and construction. Our community of friends and professional colleagues are showing no hesitation in collaborative spirit and this is what community is all about. We're all excited to contribute.

Given that our normal operations have been severely disrupted - and instead of laying off our staff and simply closing - we've taken it upon ourselves to continue to employ our staff. The owner of POV has decided to personally fund the initial batch production of three much needed items that are seeing shortages:

We really need your help to secure more materials. We're in Downtown Los Angeles, and through many years of producing products for the music industry, we have connections with raw material suppliers right here outside our door. We've confirmed they have everything we need.

Now we need your help. As of Friday March 27th, Mayor Garcetti estimates that we will be in the same position as New York in 6 - 12 days, and we have to make sure our health care workers are better equipped.

We've teamed up with Greg Lauren , and we'll be using his validated face mask design.

Fabric Supply - Supply Confirmed - 7,000 Yards Available within 1/2 mile from our studio. 

Metal Nose Clips - Metal Fabrication Shop Confirmed - 8,000 pcs nearly completed.

Velcro & Elastic - Supply Confirmed

Hepa Filtration Paper - Already Purchased - 95% Filtration at 0.3 Microns - MERV15.  First shipment should yield over 60k+ filters. We'll be cutting all of these at POV on our high speed CNC cutter. Spec sheet is available on our website: https://fineartprinting.la/ppe-la-partners/ 

Sewers - 5 Companies Confirmed - 4 to 6k units per day capacity.

• FACE SHIELD & GOGGLES• 


We've designed a single piece clear vinyl face shield, and clear vinyl goggles. They are easily adjustable with attached velcro and can easily be sterilized and cleaned for repeated use.

Vinyl - Supply Confirmed 2 blocks from our studio. Over 500 yards available.

Cutting & Assembly - taking place here at POV on our high speed CNC cutter.


• PRODUCTION NOTES •

We have all of the suppliers and vendors lined up and ready. We're actively working on the first batch of all three items.

Our studio will be publishing all three of our designs, as well as our entire supply chain so that other companies with similar machinery can also jump in and help their local communities. We'll update here and post the link as soon as its available.
