Missions Trip to LA Dream Center

God has placed a special burden on our hearts for the homeless & hungry in America.
Dear friends and family,
Can you envision a land where poverty, hardship, hunger and a lack of resources both spiritually and physically keep many from hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Gilles & I like to share with you a trip that we are going to take that will prayerfully be a life changing experience for the people we come in contact with, as well as ourself. We are able to go on a missions trip with our church to Los Angeles, CA Dream Center (http://www.dreamcenter.org/about-us/), this unique center founded in 1994, is a volunteer driven organization that finds and fills the needs of over 50,000 individuals and families each month. We want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity God has presented to us. During August 8- 15, 2014, a team from New Beginnings Christian Church is going to LA Dream Center and we want to go.
Our one-week plus trip will focus on the homeless and hungry people in this area of our country that is often forgotten. The purpose of our trip is fourfold:
"¢ First, we will be allowing God to work in our lives through the personal enrichment that
comes from this type of a mission trip.
"¢ Second, we will be participating in helping with people's everyday needs: food, clothing
"¢ Third, we will be evangelizing during the week.
"¢ Fourth, we'll be involved in a prayer/visitation during the week where we'll visit people's homes to pray and encourage them.
We are excited about the opportunity and experience that lie ahead. In Mark 10, in a moment when James and John angered the other disciples with their arrogance, Jesus told the men, "Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant" (Mark 10:43). The servant is greatest of all. We hope you see the value in what we will be accomplishing. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. The trip is being funded entirely through donations and by those going on the mission trip. We need to raise $3,000 by July 20. If you can support us in a financial way, we would be very grateful. And, most importantly, we also need your prayer support. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God's leading in ministry in L.A. Without prayer, nothing will happen.

While money is important, it comes in a distant second to our need for your prayer support. Since prayer support is so important to the success of this mission, we would like to know if we can count on you in that area. We will need prayer support for the community we are going into, our travels and our team. Thank you in advance for your support.
