Our friend Lisa is in a tough spot, her van was hit while parked in front of her house. It's being "totalled" by insurance because it's old.
This was the van she drove to deliver lunches from the school to kids all over Greensburg when the pandemic started.
This is the van that transports her special needs son to vital medical appointments, some of which are as far away as Philadelphia and Cleveland.
Her son, Kylen started having seizures and breathing problems at just 10 days old, and a minor stroke at 2 years. He has epilepsy, and is on the autism spectrum (PDD-NOS) and minor (but worsening) cerebral palsy. Currently he receives Occupational, speech and water therapy. He's been to many specialists trying to determine how best to proceed with treatment. None of that will be possible if they don't have a safe, reliable vehicle to get to his appointments.
Amongst all this adversity, Lisa goes out of her way to help others, human and animal, in need of assistance. She is a social justice activist in our community, and uses her voice to advocate for others. She organized a peaceful march in Greensburg for Black Lives Matter, and delivered school lunches everyday to families in the Greensburg Salem school district at the begining of the landemic.
Lisa would never ask for a fundraiser, but she is absolutely deserving of it. Now is our chance to step up and help her family get into a safe and reliable vehicle.
In the spirit of holiday giving, anyone that can chip in even a little helps us get her into something that will be a gift to her family not just at Christmas, but for years to come.
