Send a Kyleigh to Canada!

A message from Kyleigh:

Hi, I am Kyleigh, and I am a 5th grader in Mineral County,WV. I have been selected to travel to Canada in June 2013 as a Student Ambassador, with the organization People to People. I will be traveling with a delegation of students on a 12 educational trip. Our travels will take us to Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Banff, Drumheller, Brocket, and Calgary.

The cirriculum will teach me about the history, culture, and people of the region. After all, there is no better way to learn a culture than to experience it first hand. I will be led by experienced teachers and engage in a wide variety of cultural adventures. My adventure will include: interacting with a Canadian member of Parliament, participation in High Tea, visiting the badlands, learning about the habitat and behaviors of whales during whale watching, and much more. I am incredibly excited to have been asked to take part in this wonderful learning experience.

Guidelines require that each student pay their own way for the program. I have been doing small jobs for friends, family, and neighbors, and I am also planning several fundraisers. I am asking if you would like to help sponsor my trip. I would be very grateful of your support. A local paper was my first sponsor and will be writing an article about me, how I paid for my trip, and will list all businesses and some other contributors that have helped me reach my goal of $5000.
