I have been invited to be a part of the AIMS (The American Institute of Musical Studies) in Austria this year. I am hoping to raise $7,000 to cover the cost of attending AIMS. AIMS began
more than 25 years ago in the picturesque
Austrian city of Graz, where it remains an annual
summer event. Graz, in the southeastern Styria
region of Austria, is a two-hour train ride from
Vienna and four hours from Salzburg. During the six week program, I will have to opportunity to sing for several master classes, take german classes, have diction classes, audition training, as well as compete in the Meistersinger Competition.
AIMS is a great step for my career. It will continue to help me by providing me new places to sing and for new people to hear me sing. I am excited about being able to be in a German speaking country for six week as this is a language that I will need to be fluent in soon. There are several masterclasses being lead by Wagnerian singers as well as two opportunities to sing for agents in Europe. It will also allow me to expand my network which is very important for a singing career.
I am very excited about this opportunity and all that it can provide. The cost to attend AIMS is around $10,000. Tuition is $6,495 which covers housing, breakfast and lunch, and healthcare while in Austria. The entry fee for the competition is $50. The cost of the flight looks like it will be around $2,000. The AIMS website also states that I will need about $1,000 for the german book, bus pass, and dinner for the six week period. I have already been granted at scholarship from AIMS for $2,000 as well as a $1,000 from a grant, so I am looking to raise $7,000 to cover the cost of attending AIMS.

Checks sent directly to AIMS are tax-deductible (excluding immediate family) and all money sent to AIMS with MY NAME in the memo-line for the donation will be given directly to me to cover tuition first, then transportation, and finally for things that will be needed in Austria. The payment for AIMS fees is due by May 15th but AIMS can accept donations up until July 20th.
