Kristin's Road to Recovery

Kristin Joannou Lyon, Ph.D. and her toddler were in a terrible car accident in rural Missouri on June 27, 2017. She was flown to University Hospital in Columbia and her son was sent in an ambulance. Her son was released soon after with only minor injuries.
Kristin spent three weeks in the hospital and underwent four surgeries. She is now at a rehabilitation hospital closer to home, where she is improving physically and mentally each day. With time and continued therapy, we remain optimistic for a complete recovery.
With the move the family will no longer have to stay in a hotel. However, with insurance deductibles, child care, and specialized medical professionals the bill is growing. They are careful with their money, but as many know, this kind of expense can devastate a family for years.
