Kris Brewer's Moving Expenses

Donation protected
Kris and Cynthia Brewer have made the prayerful decision to leave their home and work of almost 11 years in Huntington, West Virginia to start a new congregation in Bozeman, Montana this summer. In the northeast and many of the western states, conservative groups are few and far between.  Some states, such as Montana, have no known conservative groups in the entire state. With this knowledge the Brewers see a need and a field white for the harvest. Their love for the Lord and sharing the gospel has brought them to this decision.

A move across the country is very expensive and the Brewers have worked hard to prepare themselves financially. They do not wish to burden others more than necessary. They have been able to secure some support for during and after the move but have not yet met the amount they predict they will need. As they prepare their home to sell and look for a place to live in Montana, there have been many expenses that they did not expect. If you choose to give monetarily to them, your funds will go towards helping them sell their home here, move their belongings across country, and help them with living expenses as they settle in Montana. The smallest amount is appreciated because even a little can help with such things as buying a meal as they travel and will contribute to the overall amount.

This fundraiser is an appeal to support the Brewers with their short term moving expenses. However, they are still seeking long term support after the initial move. If you, or the congregation you are apart of, would desire to help in this way, please contact Kris.

Kris and Cynthia are not starting this work alone. Kris’s brother, Justin, and his family will also be making the move with them. Kris and Justin, along with their families, will be able to offer strength and encouragement to each other as they labor so far from other brethren. They are also in need of funds for this move. Some of you may not have had the pleasure of meeting the Brewers, so please allow me to give you a glimpse of the wonderful people that they are, so you may know your money is going to an excellent cause.

As a preacher and teacher, Kris has many talents. He is an excellent bible student and has the ability to dissect the scriptures to be able to think through events and principles logically and soundly. When teaching a bible class in the assembly or across a kitchen table, Kris is able to challenge those around him to reason for themselves and come away with a better understanding of God’s word. He has worked tirelessly in the community to reach out to those who seek the Truth. Kris is able to build relationships in the congregation so he can better serve them through his sermons, classes, and personal correspondence.

Cynthia thrives as Kris’s help meet. She offers him the support only a wife can give. Like her husband, she is an amazing bible student. She has an incredible memory of scripture, often citing a passage in class from memory while others are still searching. In everything she puts her mind to, she succeeds with strength and dignity. She is a jewel to her husband and his work. Together they are raising three wonderful kids. Their children are obedient, kind, polite and ready to help with any endeavor, just like their parents. Their futures are bright because they are being trained to be workers in the kingdom.

On a more personal note, I have known the Brewers my whole life and have worked with them closely for the last 12 years. Our relationship is knit so tightly through Christ as brothers and sisters. As a poor college student I was often a guest at their dinner table. When my hand-me-down car would break down, Kris was the one I would call from the side of the road. He would often work days to get it driving again so I wouldn’t have to pay a mechanic. When I became engaged, we trusted Kris and Cynthia to counsel us before marriage because we understand their marriage to be centered on God.  As my husband and I raise our children, we often find ourselves modeling ourselves as parents after Kris and Cynthia because we know they are raising their children as servants in the kingdom. We actively seek their advice about our family. Through different situations and health events I’ve had, Cynthia has been a constant servant to our family by providing food, cleaning our home, and helping with our children among other things. A few years ago I had to have surgery and Cynthia is the first person I remember seeing after waking from anesthesia, she was there to support me and care for my family.

I am a better person and christian having them in my life. They have taught me so many valuable lessons, whether intentionally or not. What I have recalled here is the smallest sample of the good and love they have shown me and my family. I know they have shown the same generosity to others and I know there is so much more that I do not know because they care and do their work humbly, not seeking fanfare. I can only imagine the kindness and service they will offer to the people of Bozeman.

They are some of the dearest people in my life and in many ways it breaks my heart to see them go. They will be sorely missed by the congregation here and will leave a substantial hole, but there is a need in Montana and they are ready to go. Believe me, I would not let them go for any lesser reason. I know their hearts are on fire for the work in Montana and any support you give them will fuel a most wonderful cause. Please consider supporting this family. No matter how much or how little you give, it is needed, and it will be put to good use.

“Anywhere with Jesus, over land and sea,
Telling souls in darkness of salvation free;
Ready as He summons me to go or stay,
Anywhere with Jesus when He points the way.
Anywhere, anywhere! Fear I cannot know;
Anywhere with Jesus I can safely go.”
