Neutering Street Cats of Antalya

Donation protected
Hello everyone and thank you for visiting my page.   Me and my wife are very passionate about cats and currently care for 9 cats in our home in London. In March 2018 we visited Antalya Turkey and we have returned with an overwhelming need to pursue raising funds for as many cats as possible to be neutered in Antalya.   We arrived at our holiday destination and as cat owners, it gave us great joy to see so many groups of cats hanging around our hotel, however as we started to explore the city we realised soon enough that the cat population was dangerously out of control.   I visited a few vets to seek knowledge in regards to the issue and was shocked to find out that there's only one government campaign for neutering cats outside Antalya and the price a member of the public would have to pay to neuter a cat is pretty expensive – approximately £70 to neuter one male cat.   Turkish people do feed these poor animals but no one neuters them. In the few days I spent in Antalya I saw countless female cats heavily pregnant on the streets and male cats heavily infected due to fighting and even more so as its mating season right now. Even whilst on vacation I began walking around feeding the stray cats up to and sometimes more than 2kg of dry food a day, at one point I became so devastated with what I was witnessing that I took 4 male cats and 2 female cats to be neutered at the vet. The situation is heart-breaking.....the females will keep getting pregnant, the kittens will be born with defects through interbreeding, disease will be passed from mother to kitten, many will die. After speaking at length with the vets, they informed me that the poor females will continue to give birth and the babies will continue to pass away, particularly like in recent months in the freezing winter where survival for new born’s are extremely slim.   There are hundreds of cats on the streets of Antalya and there's no hope of them finding a home and slim chance of them getting neutered without our help.   I plead to each and every one of you lovely people to please help me raise as much as possible to get as many of these poor cats neutered in the hope that they can live a happy and healthy life. I spoke to a vet by the name of Emre from Falez Veterinar and he will be carrying out the neutering when the funds are ready. I have already committed to contributing towards the neutering of 2 cats each month. Note every penny I raise will go direct towards the neutering services. The cats in England have hope with so many organizations available and the awareness people have of these issues, cats however in Antalya have no hope without us neutering them as there's only one UK based charity in the whole of Turkey. It's such a heart-breaking scene seeing male cats bleeding and female cats heavily pregnant. If you love cats and would like to help this cause, please donate and help the cats in Antalya lead happy and healthy lives.
