Friends and Family,
As many of you know, my daughter, Kori, was born with several heart issues; she had open heart surgery at 11 months old, and again when she was 11 years old. In addition, she has had several heart procedures over the years. Now, she is facing her third-open-heart surgery at Emory this week - yes, here we go again!
What amazes me about Kori is how she faces each one of these surgeries and procedures with courage, faith, and a strength that goes beyond my understanding. While this mother’s heart has always wished to take this challenge from her, I know Kori has never faced any of this alone. I am so thankful for God’s presence during each one of these challenging moments, and I know that He is the one that carries us when we cannot walk ourselves.
I have hesitated creating this GoFundMe account because I know that there are so many needs everywhere. I also know that Kori is loved by so many and many of you have asked how you can help. First, please pray! Pray for the surgeon as he replaces her valve; pray that Kori will have complete peace throughout this procedure, pray that she will not need a pacemaker, and pray for a speedy recovery.
Second, Kori has just learned that she is expected to pay a good portion of her responsibility of the surgery (that is not covered by our insurance) BEFORE the surgery date which is 9/21. Needless to say, this adds a measure of stress that she just doesn’t need at this time.
So, in addition to your prayers, if you would like to give toward these medical bills, I know this unexpected burden on Kori would be eased somewhat. Thank you to all of you who share in Kori’s life.
