This page has been set up for a Memorial fund in honor of Kinley Sophia Rock. The money raised will help fund the purchase of a CuddleCot to be donated to one local hospital in Kinley's Memory. Any additional funds raised will go to a local support group of infant loss called Sweet Grace Ministries to help support other families of loss.
A CuddleCot is an in room cooling unit that is the size of a small humidifier disguised inside a Moses basket. Having this unit available to parents while they are in the hospital encourages families to spend time with their baby that has passed. This gift allows precious hours for bonding, pictures, plaster molds to be taken and other family members to come and meet the baby before the natural changes that occur in death become more apparent. In addition the baby can stay in the room with the family the entire hospital stay if the family so desires. Every moment spent is a precious gift and as a grieving parent, you never know what your heart may need to continue its healing journey weeks, months or even years down the road.
As many know we were expecting our miracle baby May 30th, 2014. We became parents on June 2nd, 2014, where our sweet Kinley Sophia was born sleeping at 40 weeks 3 days. We were unaware of what the next few hours and days held for us as parents of a stillborn. We knew how precious our time was going to be with Kinley. There was nothing available to us to keep our baby from the natural changes that happened quite quickly. We are raising money so other parents have the ability to spend more time with their babies without the natural changes happening quite as fast. With this cooling unit we hope to encourage other parents to spend all the time then want with their babies and bond with their child.
Lastly any extra funds raised with be donated in honor of Kinley to Sweet Grace Ministries. Sweet Grace Ministries offers to provide support to those who have endured miscarriage, stillbirth or neo-natal death as well as baskets to parents who have experienced loss.
