All big dreams have small beginnings. This journey started rather serendipitously. I was unemployed, newly separated from my husband, and with five children 7, 4, 2, and twins 3 yrs old. Daycare would have been more than $500/ wk. I just couldn't afford to work. So I understand how hard it is for single moms. Yeah, we may have made some bad choices along the way, but why should we be forever held back because of them. The truth is, no one is going to take care of your responsibilities for you. With few job prospects, I decided to go into business for myself. Since I'm a great mom, I could be the same for other kids, hence the founding of Kingdom Kids. It started out as a way to pay my bills and turned into an outreach ministry. I had a front row to the struggles of other mothers trying to finish school, work full-time, or pursuing other goals. Often times didn't have child support or knowledge of community resources. I have helped nearly 70 single moms find what they need to make ends meet. In addition to resource referrals, I provide low cost childcare with rates ranging from $35-$125. I offer daily/ nightly drop-ins, part-time, full-time, and weekend childcare. My flexibility and accessibility benefits parents with shift work, second jobs, or on call schedules. It is important to know your child is safe no matter what time you have to go into work. My mission is to make a positive difference in a family's situation. I don't want mothers to lose the respect of their children because they had to disrespect themselves to make money. My trials are a testimony that moms can always strive to do the right thing and establish a standard in their home. I want them to know that if they put God first, then everything else will work itself out. My message is one of faith, self-worth, and integrity. So when you donate to Kingdom Kids, you are backing up all the parents out there who make a difference in their children's lives. Who work hard to teach them to never give up. Who rise early and go down with 4 hrs of sleep a night. Who give all of themselves to everyone and never ask in return. We need more businesses like Kingdom Kids, not is business just for money but to build and grow people. Thank you all for your continued support.
