Help Kim Fight Cancer!

My brother’s girlfriend, Kim, has stage four metastatic cancer in her breast, bones, back, and brain. She has a big fight ahead of her, and though she has love from her family and her church, she could use all the financial support possible as she fights the disease.

It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to ask for your help. Your donation will help to ease her suffering and pain, and help Kim’s family give her the best possible quality life as soon as possible. Please continue reading for some background on her situation:

When this all began three weeks ago, Kim did not have health insurance. She lives with her parents in their mobile home in Pennsylvania near the Delaware and Maryland border, and has struggled to find a new career when the store she worked at closed down a year ago. While being baptized at the church she attends with her boyfriend, my brother Peter, she felt a sudden sharp pain in her chest area. Emergency services were called, and the doctors quickly realized that her cracked sternum was caused by cancer in her bones. Further tests uncovered metastatic breast cancer that had quickly spread, with tumors already riddling her bones, back and brain.

With the help of a social worker, she now has Medicaid to cover the basic costs of chemotherapy, radiation, and medicine. However, we need help covering the costs of that first ambulance ride, tests, out of state hospital stay, medications -- all of which were incurred while uninsured.

We want to make sure that she can eat healthy, enjoy some of her hobbies like coloring and playing video games, and have a decent quality of life so as to give her the best chance of recovery.

The money will be used to cover medical costs, basic needs, and peace of mind for her family as they go through this tough time.  Kim's sister Sara is managing the funds, and helping her family provide the best care they can. Thanks in advance for your generosity, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want to know more.
