My name is Kimberly Chandler and I am a Senior at Kennesaw State University (KSU) in Kennesaw, GA. I am majoring in English with a concentration in professional writing.
As a student majoring in English, I am excited about the opportunity to participate in the European Council – Paris, France education abroad program that will allow me to spend a summer studying in the “Capital of the World” immersed in history and surrounded by some of the world’s finest art, architecture, writing, and music. KSU’s European Council program is a 5 week, intensive program of study that allows students to experience history where it was made, attend theater and music performances by world-renowned companies and ensembles, write in parks and cafés where Fitzgerald and Hemingway wrote, and learn French immersed in the language. My career goal is to work for a public relations firm in Atlanta, so this program abroad will give me vital experience I will be able to cherish and use for the rest of my life.
Over the course of this education abroad program, KSU students will apply the knowledge we have gained in the classroom to that of another culture. We will have the opportunity to explore many other European countries. This education abroad experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity for which I am extremely excited.
As you can imagine, embarking on this trip depends on financial support. My fundraising goal is $7500 to cover program fees as well as tuition cost. So far, I have been fortunate enough to receive the Global Learning scholarship through KSU and I work part-time to help fund my expenses as well as offer reasonably priced photography sessions, but this is not enough. I ask for your help in making a donation towards this education abroad program to Paris France. Your contributions will help me complete my university degree requirements and will enable me to offer real world examples of global experience when I am applying for jobs after graduation.
