Help Kim Beat Cancer!

Donation protected
January of 2017, Kim felt an odd sized lump on the left side of her neck. She wasn't in any pain or discomfort, so she didn't think anything of it.
In October of 2017, Kim went to her doctor for a sinus infection where her doctor felt the lump and wanted her to get it checked out immediately. She was sent to have a CT scan by her doctor, but insurance would not cover it without having a sonogram first. So Kim had to have a sonogram done where then she was once again requested to have a CT scan, meanwhile paying out of pocket for both. The results were not good. There was enough evidence to suggest she has Lymphoma. Immediately following the CT scan, Kim had a cluster of lymph nodes in her armpit removed for a biopsy and numerous vials of blood were taken.

The diagnosis: Stage 1 Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (SLL).  But as a precautionary measure, doctors requested a CT scan of her entire body to rule out any other tumors.

Results came back and were devastating. Kim has numerous tumors in her abdomen, the largest being 9cm x 7cm. Moving her from Stage 1 to Stage 3.

With her huge deductible on her insurance plan, she is paying out of pocket for each test, scan, sonogram, and doctor appointments. As you know, the bills are piling up.

Kim is looking into receiving treatment at MD Anderson in Houston. She has an appointment on January 25th to gather information on all her options. She is visiting doctors in DFW as well to decide where and when to start treatment.

Kim is my dearest friend. Someone I met only 2 years ago, but I feel like I have known her my entire life. It breaks my heart to think that is horrible disease is trying to take over her body. So what can we do to help? All I want to do is help.

I do not want anyone to feel obligated to help financially. Kim could use prayers, emotional support, and any healing thoughts sent her way. Although, if you can and want to contribute, a few dollars could go along way. Kim and her husband James would be beyond grateful. As we all know Kim, she is the most thoughtful selfless person. She always does the right thing and bends over backwards for people. So I just wanted us all to come together and help her in any way we can. Let's help Kim beat cancer!
