Kevin’s medical fund

It’s never easy to be vulnerable to complete strangers but sometimes you have to find the courage to let the broken pieces be seen. My family are incredible, wonderful, kind and hardworking people. We know we are lucky in many ways; however, life circumstances have been difficult and outside factors and health issues have become extremely difficult to overcome.

My father has been battling diabetic ulcers on his feet for several years. His job requires him to walk and be on his feet everyday resulting in the wounds closing and then reopening. They repeatedly have become infected and have resulted in doctors ordering him to put no pressure on his foot and use a knee scooter for extremely limited mobility. These infections have required the need for IV antibiotics for months and home health care coming in weekly to tend to his wounds. While struggling to resolve the infection in his feet he recently became violently ill, shaking and convulsing uncontrollably.
After taking him to the ER we learned that he has sepsis from an additional new infection and two pulmonary embolisms in his lungs. He is having serious issues just trying to breathe as a result from the clots in his lungs. We know how close we were and are lucky to still have him here with us. This has been an extremely difficult time for him and our family both physically and mentally. We are focusing on him trying to get better one day at a time. He is not able to go back to work right now and has used up all of his advanced sick leave. The medical bills, financial strain, etc. continues to add up daily.

Although it is hard to let people see the vulnerability in asking for help I feel as though sometimes you have to have faith in others to help out when you are in need. Anything you can give, share etc. is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
