Beating Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Five years ago Kerya was diagnosed with a brain tumor. 2 surgeries later she received a devastating diagnosis: she had central nervous system lymphoma. Only a few years before this news Kerya's husband of thirty eight years had lost his job when his company closed it's doors in the middle of the night. Ed remained positive pursuing further education with the hope of acquiring a future in social work while Kerya became their households income provider. It had been his dream to help others as an occupation, however this aspiration was to be put on hold when he learned of his wife's illness. Kerya could no longer work, and it was then that the focus of Ed's care, compassion, time, love, and support was to be given in total to the love of his life Kerya.

Side by side Kerya and Ed battled this deadly disease, and after years of treatment (surgery's, chemotherapy, radiation, and physical therapy) together they had received wonderful news, Kerya's cancer had gone into remission.

However their good fortune was to be short lived.

Kerya was no longer able to work due to the cancers lingering effects on her brain and body which left Ed as the only one able to work. Ed without complaint took on two separate jobs (one of which involves unloading trucks and stocking shelves in a retail store at the age of 61). He has done his best to pay hospital bills, insurance bills, and do his part to financially handle the looming expenses of longer term cancer treatment, all with a smile and inspiring outlook.

Just when they hoped they would be able to bring some stability back to their lives Kerya and Ed were told that her cancer was back. After the amounting expenses they are going into battle with this disease a second time with their resources completed depleted.

As a couple they have spent their lives dedicated to helping underprivileged children, the homeless, and those in need. Volunteering at shelters, hospitals, and even feeding the homeless on Thanksgiving. As two selfless people they have never wanted to ask for help, but now they need it more than ever.

Please donate to help Kerya and Ed, no amount is too small and anything given will be more than appreciated.
