Kerry's Medical Fund

On June 23, 2016, Kerry Nolan was preparing for his flight to Maui for a much-needed vacation with his family and friends. In addition to beach time Kerry was looking forward to competing in "Cycle to the Sun," a 10,000-foot climb on the longest, steepest paved road in the world--the Haleakula volcano. While packing for his trip, Kerry noticed a pain that had been nagging at him. Always health-conscious, Kerry made a quick appointment to drop by and see his doctor before his flight. Kerry received some devastating news. He had late-stage melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer. Despite this, Kerry flew to Maui and completed one of the most grueling cycling climbs in the world.
This personifies Kerry. He's a fighter. And after multiple rounds of excruiating treatments and hospital stays over the past year and a half, he's still fighting this disease. Kerry is an inspiration. He rarely complains, welcomes everyone with a smile, bikes with his son to school every day, and continues to work as much as he can.
Unfortunately, medical care costs here in the US can skyrocket quickly, and insurance coverage often doesn't match those costs. Kerry and his family are now facing an increasing financial burden. I'm hoping that we can all chip in for a great guy and ease some of this burden. These are difficult times for many people, but if we can pool our resources, we can help Kerry and his family get through this. Kerry's doing his part in fighting for his life, and he shouldn't be weighed down by the addition of financial stress. Kerry will be visiting Marin for the holidays, and it would be great to surprise him with a holiday present from all of his friends.
