My name is Tom Burkley and I’ve been a resident of Downtown Kent for the last 20 years with my amazing wife Tami. Over the years we’ve seen many changes to downtown Kent, most of them good, a few not so much. One of the problems we’ve noticed is the increase in the amount of litter on our downtown streets. This really bugs the hell out of me!
For over 15 years I was a pedicab driver carrying happy sports fans to and from the games as well as offering tours to tourists in Seattle. Alas, age and a bum knee forced me to give this up. Since then I have tried to find a new use for my pedicab and now I finally have one!
In August 2018 I launched my new cause, KENT CLEAN STREETS. My mission is to keep our streets clean from the ugly trash and recyclables tossed onto our streets by some of our uncaring citizens by using my pedicab, now converted into a trash collection cart, which I have named ‘The Litter Buggy’. It is my hope that I can use my cause to increase public awareness of the problem while rolling around town picking up trash.
I need YOUR help to make this a success! My goal of $12,000 will fully fund this cause for 1 year.
