Donations For A Family Law Attorney

I’d like to start by saying that it is hard for me to put aside my pride and ask for help, but my daughter’s wellbeing is at stake, so here I am.. I am a single mother of 2; I work full-time, and am enrolled part-time at ASU with the help of student loans. I try my hardest to support myself and my children while working towards bettering our future. I very much believe in dual parenting; coming from a broken home myself, I dreamed of one day having my own nuclear family. Unfortunately, my ex (Kennedys dad, not Aidens) became more interested in getting drunk and high – sometimes becoming violent – so I had to remove myself, and my children, from that situation. My ex then moved in with his mother and was supposed to be getting clean and having good behavior, so we established a joint custody agreement without involving the courts. I felt comfortable with the arrangement as I believed the grandmother would be a sufficient safety monitor; that she would keep her son sober and would look out for the well-being of our daughter. However, as time has gone on, my ex has gotten worse.  He recently took our daughter Kennedy to a “family fun” establishment, where he proceeded to get drunk to the point of blacking out and accosted an employee. He didn’t even remember me arriving to take our daughter, or notice me leaving out the back exit with her; anyone could have walked out the door with her. This event was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back and I immediately filed for sole custody with the courts. I can’t let him continue to put my child in harm’s way. He needs to get help before he can be trusted to make sound decisions. I do not want to prevent my child from establishing a relationship with her father, I just want that done in a controlled environment until he can prove that being a father is more important than the substances that cause him to put Kennedys safety and wellbeing in jeopardy. He has hired a lawyer and is fighting for joint custody; with Arizona being a state in favor of 50/50 custody, I’m terrified that he will win. I need to get a lawyer if I’m going to have any chance at winning this and keeping my baby safe. I am asking for help from friends, family, or anyone who has been through this type of scary and stressful situation – either personally or through a loved one - to donate towards financing a family law attorney. Anything helps. Thank you.
