My name is Russell Wilson, US Marine Corp Veteran, and my wife’s name is Amy Wilson. On February 20, 2018 we welcomed our beautiful little identical twin girls (Kambri and Kennedy) into this world, seven (7) weeks early, full of challenges.
Since that day, Kennedy and Kambri have been facing an up hill climb in the NICU in Dallas, TX. Both girls are battling many health concerns surrounding their hearts and lungs. Both girls have multiple holes in their hearts causing fluid to build up on their lungs. Kennedy has battled through severe intestinal issues and Kambri is currently fighting Meningitis.
Most recently, after 60 days in the NICU, we found out that our girls have Cri-Du-Chat Syndrome (CDC or 5p-) with a translocation of 7q. We are currently over 70 days in the NICU. As parents we want the best for our children and we have realized that we could use the kindness of others to help relieve some of the financial stress involved.
We live 45 minutes to an hour, without traffic, from Children's Hospital in Dallas, TX. As dedicated parents with additional children at home (Keirsten who is 18-years-old, Kinzley who is 3-years-old, and Caden who is 13-years-old), we, Amy and Russell, make separate trips on a daily basis to be with our twins. Amy visits during the day and I make the trip after work.
