Journey Ahead for Kelton Kaye

You may know Kelton as the town photographer or you may know him for his online humor.  With his big personality and generous heart, it is no surprise he is loved by so many.

Those that do not know me, my name is Yanna Zazu, and I am Kelton's good friend and photography partner. I am reaching out to all of you to please help Kelton, our friend, in his time of need.

Kelton was born and raised in Allen Park Michigan. He attended Cabrini High School and graduated in 1990.  Later, Kelton went on to become a well-known local photographer and spent twenty years coaching boys and girls varsity tennis at Cabrini High School.

For the past few months Kelton has been struggling with medical issues with his right foot. Within the last few days this struggle worsened and got very tough for him.

On June 14th Kelton’s foot suddenly collapsed and he was rushed to St. Mary Mercy Hospital.  His foot got infected. Sadly, on June 15th at about 4PM, Kenton’s foot had to be amputated from mid calf. On June 19th, Kelton had a second surgery to close his wound.  His friend Tee and I visited him shortly after to find his body convulsing from excruciating pain. This is the first time I have seen somebody shake uncontrollably. Yes, it was very scary to witness! Now, Kelton remains in the hospital recovering from the trauma.

Seeing him in so much pain breaks my heart. Kelton needs all of us now more than ever. Please help on our journey for his recovery!

Kelton is receiving care at St. Mary Mercy Hospital- Livonia, Room #5435. Visiting hours are anytime. Use North Entrance before 8PM and Emergency entrance after 8PM.

Even with insurance, medical bills can be a huge financial burden. Lost wages while he heals does not help this already tough situation.

To make matter worse, Kelton's mom, Carol, is in the hospital also. She is suffering from a terrible knee infection and is currently without a knee, so both Kelton and her are unable to walk.

We are asking everyone to come together to help Kelton Kaye with medical bills and disability remodeling. The family needs a bathroom with a walk-in tub on the main floor.  He will need a Hoyer Lift, wheelchair van, and a ramp.
