Kelsi (Johnson) Messick's days here on Earth were fewer than we all wanted or expected, but the impact she made during that time was far-reaching and will be felt for years to come. She was a 31 year old wife to Kris, a mother to her precious 4 year old son, Kooper, a daughter, a sister and a fine Hospice care nurse.
On August 10, 2017, Kelsi had just left a Hospice patient's side and was traveling back to Graham when she parked her car at a convenience store in Newcastle, Texas and ran inside to grab a bite to eat. Before she was even able to get her keys in the ignition her car was T-boned by a pickup truck going at an excessively high rate of speed.
This is a young family whose life has been forever altered. Kris and Kooper are not prepared for this sudden loss and the overwhelming financial burden.
Kelsi has touched the lives of everyone her path crossed and made a lasting impression on us all. She lived and loved more than most of us could ever imagine. Most importantly she loved Jesus and her Kooper. Help us to honor her memory and provide for her family's immediate and future needs. This fundraiser was created by Scott Hoffmeyer, a family friend of the Johnsons and long-time July 4th volleyball teammate of Kelsi's. Scott created the campaign at the request of Kelsi's parents (Tommy and Vicki Johnson). Through these past couple of months, you have helped raise nearly $15,000 that will be used to help with her final expenses and for Kooper's future needs. In the coming weeks Scott will begin working with Kelsi's older sister (Bradi Johnson Williams) to set up the approrpiate accounts that will best serve her brother-in-law (Kris) and his precious son (Koop), as he turned five just a couple months ago.
