Help Keleigh Kick Cancer!

Donation protected
Her rare story begins back to June 15th, 2017...Keleigh thought she was just sick.  So sick that she even turned to her Mom for support.   Keleigh doesnt like to go to the Doctor to often, especially if she thinks she can get better at home with some R&R.  With Moms help of course she would feel better!!!  She had a cough, difficulty breathing and just felt lousy. Her Mom convinced her to go to the clinic thinking it was pneumonia again.

Monday July 17th, she went to the clinic knowing she needed some type of medicine to help kick this cough....There they took an x-ray.    Upon getting the results they already phoned for an ambulance to come and transport her to Marymount Hospital.  They informed Keleigh that they found a massive mass pushing on her trachea and needed it to be checked out further immediatly! The mass is the size of mans fist. See in December she just had pneumonia and an x-ray done.  No tumor was there.  So within 6 months this grew so large it effected her breathing.

It was days before they had a plan.  Keleigh was unable to lay down.  Her oxygen level would drop  immediatly.  They decided to intubate and keep her sitting up.   She was transported down to Main Campus. Finally they did a biopsy.   Days later, it was inconclusive. The Doctors decided to then re-intubate and preform a more serious biopsy. Results had to be sent out for a second opinion.

Monday August 1, 2017 after trying to patiently wait, they Doctors finally had a diagnosis.  16 days in a hospital getting poked, prodded and tubed they finally gave her news.  TYHMIC CARCINOMA.  An extremly rare cancer.  The plan was to begin chemotherapy immediatly and get a scan to see if it spread.

Luckily, it did not.  Keleigh underwent a 6 1/2 hour chemo treatment last night on August 3rd through a picc line.

Thymic Carcinoma is a rare type of thymus gland cancer.  It usually spreads, and has a high risk of occurance.  The survival rate is very low.   According to cancer.gov patients only have a 5 year survival rate at 30%-50%.  This is where Keleigh comes in to change the statistic.

Everyone was blind sided by all of this.  Her family just lost both Grandparents in April.  It has been a tough year financially and emotionally.

Keleigh is tough and stubborn and we believe she can beat this!!  Her Mom is a 3x  survivor of cancer herself.   We are hoping this campaign can help bring awareness to this rare disease and help offset the burden of her medical bills.  16 days in a hospital, 14 days  in the ICU, 2 ambulance transports, chemotherapy, basic living costs, etc...

Keleigh works at the Independence, Ohio Winking Lizard, and is actively involved in the Broadview Heights Spotlights Program.  Unfortunately, like most people,  doesnt have the means to pay for all of this.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
