Keith,s Cancer Fund ,

18 Months ago we lost an amazing young woman due to a vicious disease called Osteosarcoma, it was a rare type of bone cancer, one normally found in pediatric patients and now here we stand united, hopeful and with optimistic thoughts and prayers to help Keith fight the most important fight of his one against brain cancer. Keith and Alison had an undeniable bond, no matter what he always made time to see her and make her laugh. Every gathering of my five children always turned into multiple conversations going at once, them discussing dropping me off at a nursing home, or who is going to get me when I start really getting old and usually it ends in nothing but laughter. Two years ago It was discovered that Keith had melanoma on his neck, while removing the melanoma on his neck, it was determined at that time that it was melanoma with lymph node invasion so he ended up having a lymphadenectomy that day. He recovered from that procedure and continued with life. On May 11th, 2017, early that morning Keith became a grandfather to a beautiful little girl. An incredible start of that day, took a drastic turn for him. Keith was at the top of a 10ft ladder working when he had a seizure and fell. The man upstairs was looking out for him that day, because at the bottom of that ladder was a friend of his, and when Keith fell his friend caught him (we all have said that he has a horseshoe up his butt because he is pretty much always a very lucky man, especially in this case.) Keith has always been a healthy young man one of his favorite slogans is “I pick things up and I put them down! He’s a big kid at heart, he loves to camp with family, an avid softball player, works on cars etc, we joke because even when he broke his ankle he was right back at work like he was invincible, so Besides the melanoma on his neck he has never had any medical problems. Keith was taken by rescue to Rhode Island hospital where they ran some tests and found a rather large tumor on the left side of his brain which they have determined to be stage 4, Metastatic brain cancer, they think the prior skin melanoma metastasized to his brain. Do to the location of it, the doctors determined it was inoperable. And despite all the medical advancements throughout the years there is still no cure for this heartbreaking disease. Keith is a 36yr man, my son, a brother, a fiancé, a father, a grandfather and an incredible friend. He has fought for everything he has (well except for this, I guarantee he would love to stick it in a box, Duct tape it shut, and drop it off at the post office with a label stating RETURN TO SENDER) but unfortunately, we all know that’s not possible at least not yet. Keith is my first born and has always been a survivor. He is not supposed to drive, he suffers from extreme migraines, easily fatigued but he finished his first course of radiation on May 29th And he began his immunotherapy on Monday, June 19th All while he continues to work every day because he doesn’t want the cancer to define him, only he can do that. Keith is a man who is trying to keep his life as normal as possible while knowing that in some instances he can’t. Keith would never ask for help, so as a family we are doing it for him. He works as a property manager which includes long days and at times long hours in the sun. Keith is fortunate to have worked for the same people for more than a decade, and they are a huge part of his extended family. Keith is a young, strong, intelligent, charismatic, comical hard-working man. We all know times are tough, and I do the best I can to help but, must remain healthy to be there for him physically as well as emotionally. All we are asking for are donations that will go directly to Keith, his fiancée Michelle and their two sons as well as his first granddaughter who was welcomed into this world. These donations will allow Keith to take the much needed rest he NEEDS in order to recuperate from the treatments he is undergoing currently as well as in the future, they will help any financial stress he may be carrying on his shoulders, also donations will help with any medical bills he may receive while undergoing treatment and to help with any financial burdens his family may develop while he fights for his life. As it stands he was given 6 months, I’m grateful that I raised a tribe of fighters who love to defy the odds. Keith is my oldest son and I have already lost my youngest daughter too soon from this vicious disease. We will continue to be optimistic, seeing Keith was born on 03/17/1981 and he is truly a walking talking lucky charm. We pray he will be just as lucky while going through this fight. So as his mother, I ask that you find it in your heart to donate even if its .25cts every little bit counts, I will remain forever grateful to all that help him whether it be a monetary donation or a moment out of your day to say a prayer that he recovers. Thank you for taking the time out to read this and as I mentioned before any help would be greatly appreciated.
