Keith Hood

1930 – 2020

Keith Hood lost his battle against Alzheimer's on Friday 17th April having just turned 90.

Keith was an avid Cambridge United fan and, until recently, attended every home and away match.

Keith was always smiling and never complained. He was well known at the Abbey Stadium as well as in his local area. He had cared for his wife during her illness until she passed away 7 years ago.

Since then, Keith had lived on his own as an independent and confident fellow. It slowly became apparent to his closest friends that Keith was showing signs of dementia but he still enjoyed his football matches!

When he became too ill to be able to stay on his own, Keith was moved to a safe environment in a care home where he lived for his last few months.

This Gofundme  page has been set up so that his friends and family can buy him a memorial bench and plaque to be sited behind the Habbin Stand at the Abbey Stadium

Please help us to raise the funds in time for a memorial service to be held later this year. Any funds which are over and above the cost of the bench will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society (Charity No. 296645)

Thank you for any support you can give.
