Keg's Big Run

My name is Eoin Kieran aka Keg and I will be running a marathon to raise funds for two worthy charities. My aim is to run 42km to raise money for Greystones Cancer Support (GCS) and Aware. Everything raised will be split evenly between these charities. The money raised will help them to continue providing such important services to those who need them.
GCS is a local charity which has supported individuals and their families through the course of their cancer treatment and in the time that follows for 25 years. They provide many support services for the individual and their families such as assistance with transport to hospital check-ups and treatments, home and hospital visits, social outings, support groups, counselling, therapies and open meetings with speakers on specific topics.
Aware's vision is to create a society where individuals affected by stress, depression and other mood-related disorders are supported, free from stigma and encouraged to access appropriate services. Founded in 1985, Aware's three pillars of work are information, education and support. The services they provide include group support meetings, a telephone and email support service, programmes based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and talks and workshops in schools. Educating people to look after their mental health has become even more important in recent times with the additional stresses and uncertainties which have been brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.
