Help me keep my dogs & cat

I recently lost both my mother & father to rapid onset illness, they passed at very early ages mom 65 & dad 68.  Since May 2009, my life has been centered around either my mother or my father.  I had no help in the way of family, I am all they had.  I quit my job to help my father take care of mom.  5/9/09 mom suffered from the 1st of 2 strokes, the 1st partially paralyzed her the 2nd was fatal.  9 wks after she passed dad was diagnosed with terminal III B lung cancer and after a rough 2 yrs he lost his battle 11/25/13.

My parents were not wealthy what little insurance money my father received when mom passed, went to helping with expenses after he was diagnosed. They were not wealthy and lived paycheck to paycheck, unable to plan for the future & that is ok because they were not going to live to enjoy it.  This has lead to me being in a difficult situation.  There was no insurance on dad. 

I recently lost my home, and am staying with a friend on her couch, my dogs & cat are going to a shelter soon if I can not get back on my feet.  I have lost so much I do not want to lose them as well, they are all I have left. 

I have have always lived with the philosophy that if I have a little to give it will come back to me.  I now hope that it will.
