KEEP ENCORE ALIVE

NEWS ALERT:  THINGS ARE LOOKING UP!
2013 was a rough year.  We lost our grant funding but we did not hang our heads and give up.  Instead we fought even harder to KEEP ENCORE ALIVE for so many talented, deserving youth.  Because of generous people like you we were able to raise enough money to make it through the year and pull off a great show.
THANK YOU!  We couldn't have done it without you.

We are approaching 2016, and the fight to KEEP ENCORE ALIVE continues.  However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel.  We are happy to announce that we have been approved for a small grant, from the City of Lauderhill, for 2016.

This grant will allow us to keep Encore's doors open and remain FREE.  But there is still work to do.
Our students are eager to learn and perform but we lack the necessary instruments and equipment to ensure their success.

We Need:
- New or Used Musical Instruments (guitars, drumset, keyboards and stands, horns and more)
- Dance shoes (for ballett and jazz students.)
Please visit our wish list page for more ways to help.

Please do what you can to help us help our youth... every penny counts. #donate #OurYouthMatter #ItTakesAVillage

About Encore: ENCORE Performing Arts Center Inc., is a nonprofit theater company founded in 2006 to provide a safe environment and creative outlet for talented youth ages 6-21.

Selected through an audition process the students of Encore Ensemble and Music participate in weekly performing arts workshops including lessons in musical theater, acting, dance, singing, musical instrumentation, improvisation, public speaking, performance art and audio engineering. They also star in original productions, work with professional musicians and recording artists on stages and in recording studios across South Florida. Unlike other performing arts programs whose services are too expensive for most families, ENCORE ENSEMBLE and BAND is FREE for talented youth ages 6-21, regardless of household income, welcoming young performers from Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties.

We rely on the generosity of the public in order to keep Encore Performing Arts Center's doors open and FREE for so many deserving youth. We are asking for your help to buy instruments, microphones, dance shoes and other costly, but necessary, equipment and supplies so we can extend this opportunity to other talented young musicians, singers, dancers and actors.

Our community is in desperate need of programs that facilitate and foster young people's academic, cultural, creative and social growth. Due to increasing financial hardships parents are forced to work more and spend less time with their children. As a result, oftentimes young people are left home, unsupervised, with nothing constructive to do but watch television, play video games, overeat and/or participate in negative activities in or outside of the home.
According to the Arts Education Partnership "arts education can close the achievement gap and helps prepare students for college and careers" (Arts Education Partnership, 2013.)

Please help up keep the youth of South Florida focused on being productive citizens and achieving excellence.
