On May 6, 2014, 23 year old Kayla Kreckel received the devastating news that no one wants to hear... You have Breast Cancer.
Due to genetic testing and fear of reoccurrence, Kayla opted to undergo a bilateral mastectomy on June 9, 2014 with reconstruction in the future.
This is only the beginning of her road to recovery. Kayla has started physical therapy and because of her young age, Kayla will undergo fertility treatments, before she starts her chemotherapy and 5 years of chemotherapy pills, as well as possible radition.
Kayla was a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student until the news of breast cancer, as well as an employee of Grandma’s House Preschool in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Due to the necessary healing from her surgery and treatments, working with young children is not an option during this time.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help towards paying her medical bills, fertility expenses, and general living expenses at this time.
