In Memory of Kayla

Dear family and friends,
On Dec 30th, we lost Kayla Falcon at the tender age of 25. She was diagnosed at 22 years old with stage 4 metastasized breast cancer after discovering a small lump on her breast. She fought a brave courageous battle in honor of her love for her 4 year old daughter, her family and her faith in God.
We pray God uplifts her spirit and gives her peace now that she is with the Lord. Despite her hard fought battle here on earth, we know now she is in a better place, free of pain and free of suffering. When she was initially diagnosed she was scared, confused, shocked and afraid. As she progressed she met so many wonderful people that prayed for her and provided examples of strength. She learned how to take better care of herself and was inspired to mentor young women newly diagnosed. She went to corporate fairs and participated with the Young Survival Coalition speaking and raising awareness. She volunteered to do newspaper articles about her story and became a champion of inspiration. She attended our YSC Tour de Pink Bike Ride events as a symbol of her perseverance and courage.
We lost a loved one and gained an angel. Many of you have asked what can we do to help? At this time thanks to all your help we have reached our goal to cover for Kayla's funeral services. If you feel you would like to make a donation all additional
money will be placed in a secure fund for her daughter Yamilet in memory and honor of her mother. Once I create the fund I will send you all the account information.
We praise God for all his blessings and for bringing all the amazing people of YSC, Team Why We Ride, Family and all of Kayla's friends together. A special thanks to all the medical care providers from Dana Farber who always made her feel special. And all the people who have uplifted Jose Falcon (Dad) and Arlene Ortiz (Mom) during this journey. Amilcar we are here for you and your daughter for years to come.
