Hurricane Harvey

I have never started one of these pages before.  Picking a picture was actually quite a task because it has to be a very specific size to be able to be uploaded!  I had some really good pictures picked out, but I give up on finding the perfect one.   

Hurricane Harvey impacted so many people in Houston, but I was very fortunate to get through it without any damage.  Now I am left with trying to figure out how I can give back in some way.    I read a quote by Mother Theresa:

"Never worry about numbers.  Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you."

I am not going to provide a detailed story because all of the Hurricane Harvey stories are sad, but I have a friend that could really benefit from help through all of this.  If you are still looking for someone to help, please consider this opportunity to do so.  Any additional donation beyond what is needed for her damages will be given to the MD Anderson Caring Fund to assist other employees in need.

Money will be spent on fixing her home (e.g. floors, walls and roof).  She will be designated as the beneficiary for access to withdraw funds while I maintain the page.
