I am hoping to raise enough money to participate in the CPY Teacher Training Program, which starts in September, and become certified to teach yoga in Charleston. I want others to feel the same amazing transformation and personal growth I have experienced on my journey; but, most of all, I want to learn and grow from the practice of teaching and inspiring others. I want to see joy and lightness in the faces of others - not just my own, staring back at me in the studio mirror. I want to show people what yoga is all about - playfulness, strength, self-love, and FUN!
Just over a year ago, I unrolled my mat for the first time at Charleston Power Yoga, next to my best friend Megan, and prayed I wouldn't fart in front of everyone and embarrass myself at my first yoga class with Bethany Bubenzer. I am now convinced it was the best decision I have ever made.
I have never been more in love with my life, my body, and the empowered, yet peaceful feeling I now carry with me both on and off the mat. I am beyond grateful for everything I have learned, and for all the things I continue to learn every single day, as I sweat, fall, groan, breathe loud, make mistakes, and laugh with some of the greatest people I have ever met.
Yoga has made me appreciate myself, my life, and everyone and everything around me in ways I could never put into words.
I have so much love and gratitude for all the amazing yogis and teachers at CPY for opening my mind and my heart, for teaching me how to drop fears and expectations, and be humble, strong, peaceful, playful, and light. Thank you for changing my life and inspiring me to do the same for others.
Even though I work two jobs, and have saved a little bit of money, I am unfortunately still unable to pay for the CPY Yoga Teacher Training tuition ($2500) just yet. While it is a hefty initial investment, yoga is one of my greatest passions, and I am determined to become certified before the end of the year, knowing that the experience of teaching others will be more than worthwhile. A financial challenge is just like any other challenge, on or off the mat - something I have to face with courage, acceptance, peace, - and maybe a little bit of assistance from others.
I would be forever grateful if you could donate even the smallest amount to help me reach my goal. Every little bit counts, every small gesture helps me in my journey to becoming certified with the Yoga Alliance.
