Support Kathy on her cancer journey!

My mom, Kathy, has been suffering from Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia for about 5 years. She has managed this disease with chemotherapy pills. In early December of 2017, she was diagnosed with A-FIB, and most recently, in January of 2018 she discovered that she has HER2 positive breast cancer stage 2. Since the beginning of February, she has been receiving weekly chemotherapy and immune treatments for this new cancer. Once the chemotherapy is completed, doctors will perform surgery. Radiation will follow at the end of August.
My mom chose to stay with the oncologist who has treated her for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, he is not covered by her new insurance plan. However, she is comfortable with him and trusts him with her life. She sees him 1 – 3 times a week for blood work and approvals for her other treatments in Crystal Lake. The good news is that an ultrasound and mammogram midway through the chemotherapy has revealed that the tumor and infected lymph nodes have shrunk significantly!
My mom is one of the strongest and most positive people I know. She knows that that God has a plan for her and that this is the cross that He has given her to bear. She knows that with prayer He will help her overcome all challenges and help her beat this cancer!
As a family, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of friends and family who have rallied around us to provide meals and rides to treatments. We are so grateful for everything! But, my mom knows there will not be a day in her life when she is not faced with medical bills. We are asking you to consider donating any amount you are able to help ease the burden of these costs. With your care and concern, we can give my mom one less thing to worry about and the strength to kick cancer in the ass!
