Help Kathleen Photograph L'Abitibi

I have been blessed to obtain full Press Credentials to photograph the Tour de l'Abitibi, the largest UCI international cycling race in the Americas for Junior Men, ages 17-18, being held July 21st through 27th in Quebec, Canada. This is a BIG DEAL and an incredible opportunity.

Astoundingly, I will be provided lodging, access to the teams, a spot on the press van following the racers in action, and overall access to photo-documenting the happenings before, during and after the 7-stage race. There will be around 140-150 riders from all over the world including 3 United States teams, France, Belgium, and Italy so the environment will be with be rich with culture and beauty. My intention is to create a photo essay that not only includes race coverage but tells the story of the land, the people who live there, the journeys of the cyclists, the volunteers who make the tour happen.



As you know, I'm a single mom. You all have been so amazing to help my son raise funds for this race and 2 years ago you helped me raise funds for a new camera which I use every day. We absolutely could not do these things without the support of you, our friends and family. I'm humbly coming to you again, asking for help so that I am able to buy a round trip plane ticket which currently is hovering around $1300-1500. Any additional funds raised will be used towards incidental travel costs and memberships to a couple international organizations I've been meaning to join for marketing my event photography services world-wide.

With my son heading off to college, this trip to l'Abitibi will be my first official exposure to photographing on an international stage. You are helping me recreate myself and manifest my dream of being an international event photographer.
