Hi friends, family, and kind strangers! I'm starting this fundraising page to humbly ask for help to send my mom to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
My mom's medical history is not pretty. This story starts in January of 2003 when my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 Melanoma (skin cancer) and told she only had three years to live. It's been ten years since then, and she is still very much alive. But medical bills are expensive, and to top it off a new mystery illness started causing more problems in my mom's life in 2011. It's been over two years now and no doctor in the state of Colorado can confidently tell my mom that he/she knows why she suffers from stroke-like symptoms, daily migraines, and a battery of other debilitating symptoms. The Fort Collins Coloradoan wrote an article about my mom and my brother discussing my mom's illness and my brother's amazing ability to shoulder adversity. The most frustrating thing is not knowing what we're dealing with. We're desperate for answers, and I'm asking for everyone's help to get us there. Our plan is to send my mom to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona to work with specialists and try to get some sort of diagnosis. Unfortunately, our family is in no position financially to support this endeavor. Please help my mom get to Arizona so that she can start living the life that she has fought so hard to live.
